Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) reportedly conducted searches at the home of a former senior officer of Moldova’s Security and Intelligence Service (SIS), according to sources cited by PulsMedia.MD. PCCOCS press officer Emil Gaitur did not respond to a request for comment from Realitatea.md before publication.
Sources claim investigators targeted the former head of the SIS Territorial Integrity Directorate, Radu Ciumacenco, who is currently working as a principal consultant at the Government’s Reintegration Bureau. Journalists attempted to contact him using the phone number listed on the government website, but he did not answer repeated calls.

According to the same sources, prosecutors opened the investigation over alleged leaks of classified information and the deletion of such data. Investigators reportedly did not detain Ciumacenco but carried out searches and seized documents, data storage devices, and electronic equipment.
Sources also allege that during his time at the SIS, Ciumacenco worked closely with former deputy SIS director Sergiu Drutsa, who left office following a scandal involving mass prison escapes linked to members of the Shor group before their convictions.
PulsMedia.MD also previously published video material allegedly showing Ciumacenco filming a colleague while discussing the provision of paid sex workers from the Transnistrian region; however, these claims have not been independently confirmed.
