The Realitatea Media Group signed the Code of Conduct on election coverage at the invitation of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on August 28, 2025. Electoral candidates and media representatives participated in the signing.
Founder Dumitru Tira signed the Code on behalf of Realitatea Media Group.
“Democracy also requires fairness. I encourage all electoral candidates and colleagues in the media to commit to this standard,” Tira said.
By signing, participants pledged to conduct their electoral campaigns fairly, maintain equal competition, and show mutual respect, while providing voters with objective and balanced information. The Code also prohibits sexist language, hate speech, and discrimination or violence based on gender.
The CEC representatives emphasized that the Code requires strict adherence to electoral laws, forbids intimidation of election officials, accredited observers, media representatives, or voters, and prevents any form of voter corruption.
The invitation to sign the Code remains open to all parliamentary candidates and media outlets, as the CEC promotes transparency, trust, and accountability throughout the election campaign.
On August 28, the Code was also signed by representatives of the “Together” bloc, independent candidate Olesea Stamate, the Coalition for Unity and Prosperity, the Action and Solidarity Party, the League of Cities and Communes, the Patriotic Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Inima and Viitorul Moldovei, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, the Christian-Social Union of Moldova, the European Social Democratic Party, the Moldovans Alliance, and the “Unirea Națiunii” Bloc.
In addition to Realitatea Media Group, editorial teams from 7TV, Cinema 1, Radio Poli Disc, Aquarelle FM, and Radio Plai (digital) signed the Code.
