Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the citizens who participated in the presidential elections. The head of the government believes that the diaspora’s mobilization shows that many of the compatriots abroad hope to return home.
In the Prime Minister’s opinion, there are attempts to divide society into the population within the country and those living abroad. In this context, Recean emphasized that “we are one people.”
“I want to thank the Moldovans who still live abroad for their mobilization. It means that at least some of them are waiting to return home. It is important. Now, there are attempts to divide us. We are all one people, and we are all one country.
I thank the nearly one million people who voted for President Sandu to reaffirm our development plan for the great European family.

I also thank those who voted for candidate Stoianoglo for drawing the Government’s attention to the issues they face,” said the Prime Minister at the start of the Cabinet meeting.
At the same time, Dorin Recean also addressed the information regarding attempts to fraud the election. In the Prime Minister’s opinion, there are not enough courageous people in the justice system.
“Investigations, the probing, and the punishment of frauds must be completed. It is clear that justice has not functioned sufficiently, and that is why we ended up in a situation where such a large network of fraud developed. Justice is not just about laws or self-governing bodies. Justice also consists of concrete, courageous people, who apply the law.
I thank the Police, the National Anti-Corruption Center (CNA), the prosecutors, and the honest judges who acted quickly and courageously to protect democracy. From here on, we need to change the pace and approach in this area,” concluded Recean.
It is worth noting that the Police of the Republic of Moldova carried out dozens of searches and detained several activists linked to Shor before the elections. After the first round of the presidential elections, Maia Sandu claimed that there were about 300,000 fraudulent votes, while the Police reported that around 150,000 people, including clergy, had participated in the illegal funding of parties controlled by Ilan Shor.
