Romanian Defense Minister visits Moldova to discuss bilateral cooperation

Romanian Minister of Defense, Angel Tîlvăr, was received by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, during his official visit to Chișinău on Tuesday. The two discussed cooperation in the defense sector.

“President Maia Sandu had a meeting today with the Romanian Minister of National Defense, Angel Tîlvăr, who is on a visit to Chișinău. The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation in the defense sector,” announced the Information and Media Communication Directorate of the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova in a press release on Tuesday.

The source specified that the institutions of the two countries “are working to maintain peace and democracy in the Republic of Moldova.”

“Romania is a strategic partner with whom we consistently cooperate to strengthen our defense and national security capabilities. The head of state expressed her gratitude for Romania’s unconditional support in our European path, including the substantial donation offered to improve the logistics system of the National Army,” the source added.

During his official visit to the Republic of Moldova, the Romanian Minister, Angel Tîlvăr, will also hold meetings with Dorin Recean, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, at the Government House, and with Igor Grosu, the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, on Tuesday and Wednesday. This visit is aimed at enhancing the bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
