According to Veronica Dragalin, former Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Chief, high-ranking officials blackmailed around 40 judges in Moldova. During the show Puterea a Patra, Dragalin revealed that she clashed with Sergiu Litvinenko, Iulian Rusu, and Eugen Rurac shortly after taking office.
Dragalin claimed that the former minister and ex-leadership of the National Anti-Corruption Center gathered compromising information about judges and used it against them.
“I spoke directly and separately with all three of them and told them I would not participate in what they were doing. I also warned them that if I found out they continued using such methods, I would open criminal cases against them,” Dragalin stated.

She warned the three that their actions—pressuring judges to act a certain way—could lead to criminal investigations.
In response, Iulian Rusu posted on social media, “Full moon phases amplify negative emotional and psycho-emotional states.” Sergiu Litvinenko and Eugeniu Rurac did not reply to Realitatea journalists’ requests for comment.
