Several Moldovan banks have suspended transfers through the Russian bank “Unistream”

Several Moldovan banks have suspended transfers through the Russian Unistream. “Moldova Agroindbank,” “Moldindconbank,” and “Victoriabank” stopped working with the payment system.

Transfers can still be received thanks to other financial institutions, including “FinComBank.”

Recall that on July 20, the US authorities imposed sanctions against five more Russian credit institutions. Thus, the list includes “Tinkoff,” “Loco-Bank,” “St. Petersburg Social Commercial Bank,” “Solidarity,” and “Unistream.” Washington expects that this will limit Moscow’s access to the global financial system.

Earlier, Maia Sandu stated that Chisinau does not join the Western sanctions since they will hit the republic more than Russia. At the same time, she stressed that Moldovan banks and air carriers comply with these sanctions, and the government will not help the Russian Federation to bypass them in trade.
