Today, MEP Siegfried Muresan was appointed the European Parliament’s co-rapporteur for the €1.8 billion European Growth Plan for Moldova.
He announced that he would work to adopt the European legislation of the plan as soon as possible so that the money reaches Moldova as soon as possible.
“It is important to adopt the support package in good conditions for the Republic of Moldova, taking into account the situation in the country and its development needs. Last but not least, I want to be sure that the EU provides Moldova with adequate technical support to absorb these funds,” Muresan underlined.

The MEP noted that the support package, announced last week in Chisinau by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will span three years and fund investments in hospitals, roads, bridges across the Prut, and other areas aimed at modernizing the Republic of Moldova, raising living standards, and preparing the country for EU membership.
