An athlete from Moldova, Anton Vlas, won a silver medal at the European Under-20 Wrestling Championship. At the same competition, Ion Marcu won a bronze medal.
Both athletes are graduates of the municipal sports boarding school in Chisinau. Anton Vlas, a member of the national freestyle wrestling team, won a silver medal in the weight category up to 57 kilograms. Ion Mark managed to defeat the representative of Germany in the fight for a bronze medal in the weight category up to 70 kg.
The performances were achieved with the support and guidance of coaches Maxim Gilca, Yuri Gurin, Alexei Postolaki, and Artem Postica.
The European Championship in freestyle wrestling among youths under 20 was held from June 30 to July 2 in Spain.
