Speaker of the Latvian Parliament, Daiga Mieriņa, is coming to Chisinau

The Speaker of the Latvian Parliament, Daiga Mieriņa, will visit the Republic of Moldova from April 14 to 15. The official will meet with the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu. A joint press conference will follow, during which the officials will discuss Moldovan-Latvian cooperation. The press statements are scheduled for Monday, April 14, starting at 09:45.

Additionally, the Latvian dignitary will discuss with the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Doina Gherman, and Deputy Alina Dandara, the Chairwoman of the Moldovan-Latvian Friendship Parliamentary Group.

The visit agenda also includes talks with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, the Vice Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister Mihail Popsoi.

On Tuesday, April 15, the Speaker of the Latvian Parliament will travel to Ungheni, where she will meet with representatives of local authorities and the socio-economic sector in the region.

The topics will focus on opportunities to strengthen Moldovan-Latvian cooperation, particularly in advancing Moldova’s European path.
