“Support for Moldova’s EU Integration”: Séamus Boland Highlights Labor and Social Protection Cooperation

European Economic and Social Committee has expressed strong support for the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union and has pledged to provide assistance in labor and social protection. Séamus Boland made the statement during talks with Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.

During the meeting, participants focused on Moldova’s European path and the regional security situation. The prime minister stressed that authorities in Chisinau cannot afford to miss the opportunity for EU integration. He stated that the government is aligning policies with European standards and improving citizens’ living conditions.

Munteanu highlighted economic growth, justice reform, and strengthening peace and security as key priorities.

Officials also emphasized the need to counter propaganda and protect the information space in the context of the war in Ukraine and the situation in Transnistria.

The European Economic and Social Committee serves as an advisory body of the European Union, represents employers and workers, and facilitates dialogue between EU institutions and citizens.
