The Chisinau Court of Appeal rejected the Political Party Big Moldova’s appeal against the Central Election Commission (CEC) decision, ruling it unfounded. As a result, the party remains excluded from the September 28, 2025, parliamentary elections.

The CEC excluded the party after receiving complaints from several institutions, including the European Social Democratic Party, the Orhei Police Inspectorate, the National Investigation Inspectorate, the Police Department of UTA Gagauzia, the Balti Police Inspectorate, the National Anticorruption Center, and the Information and Security Service.

Authorities cited several violations: using undeclared financial and material resources, receiving resources from abroad, offering money, goods, or services to voters to influence their choice, and participating in a disguised electoral bloc aimed at continuing the activities of political parties previously banned by court rulings.

The Court of Appeal’s decision can be challenged within three days, but not later than election day.

The party’s lawyer, Igor Hlopetchi, criticized the ruling and argued that Moldova will once again face condemnation by the European Court of Human Rights.
