The Communists have decided which presidential candidate they will support in the second round. In a press release, the party encourages its supporters to vote for Alexandr Stoianoglo, the Socialists’ candidate.
“We call on all members of the PCRM and our supporters, as well as all patriotic citizens of the Republic of Moldova, to actively participate in the voting for the second round of the presidential elections and to vote AGAINST Ms. Sandu by voting FOR Alexandr Stoianoglo,” the statement reads.

In the second round of voting, Maia Sandu and Alexandr Stoianoglo will compete. On November 3, 2024, citizens will return to the polling stations to decide which of the two candidates will become the head of state.
