For many years, Decebal Square on Decebal Boulevard in the Botanica sector of Chisinau remained neglected, but the area has transformed following extensive rehabilitation works. The square hosts the monument of Serghei Lazo, the tallest monument in the city.

The city began rehabilitation works in 2022, upgrading the square, surrounding streets, sidewalks, and parking spaces. Chisinau City Hall created pedestrian paths, installed modern street furniture, a new irrigation system, lighting, a children’s playground, a public restroom, and a dog-friendly space. The project also included a fitness area and a ping pong table. Trees and flowers were planted, and the square hosts cultural events during the summer.

City Hall repaired sidewalks along Zelinski Street and Decebal Boulevard, built a retaining wall adjacent to the boulevard, and created public parking spaces.

Today, Decebal Square has become a safe, modern, and inviting space for relaxation and recreation for both residents and visitors of the capital.
