The EU crashes Russia’s plan to threaten cold: Offers €30m gas grant for Transnistria

The European Union is providing a €30 million grant for gas deliveries to Transnistria by February 10. In return, the Cuicurgan power plant must supply electricity to the left bank of the Dniester.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced it, stating that Tiraspol must decide whether to accept or reject this support. Meanwhile, Chisinau authorities will borrow three million cubic meters of gas to ease pressure in the systems on the left bank of the Dniester.

“The European Union is once again saving Moldova. Essentially, this is what the European Union represents: real help, heat, light, and security,” the prime minister said.
