The EU Experts Assess Moldova’s Metrology System in Key Step Toward Exporting Industrial Goods to European Market

A team of experts appointed by the European Commission is visiting Moldova to carry out an operational pre-evaluation of the national metrology system—an essential step toward granting Moldovan industrial products access to the EU market.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization (MDED), this visit follows earlier evaluations in standardization and accreditation.

The mission supports Moldova’s preparations to launch negotiations for an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) with the European Union.

“This agreement will allow Moldovan industrial products—particularly low voltage electrical equipment and products related to electromagnetic compatibility—to be certified domestically, with those certifications automatically recognized across all EU member states. It will eliminate trade barriers and ease market access for local producers,” the MDED stated.
