The authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania will restore the facade of the “Ginta Latina” Center for Culture and Arts in Chisinau as part of a new cross-border cultural project.
The project, titled “CINEMA – Reintegration of Public Cinemas into the Cultural Life of Iasi and Chisinau” (ROMD0550), runs under the Interreg NEXT Romania–Republic of Moldova Program and receives co-financing from the European Union.
The initiative aims to revitalize the public cinema circuit and reconnect communities in Chisinau and Iasi with cinematic experiences and artistic events. Authorities plan to:
- Restore the facade of the “Ginta Latina” Center;
- Produce a Romanian-Moldovan co-produced film;
- Organize joint film festivals and theatrical performances;
- Conduct cultural activities for children and youth from rural areas.
The “Ginta Latina” Center already operates with a photovoltaic station covering all its electricity needs, thanks to a previous project supported by the Ministry of Culture and partner institutions.
Through this project, authorities seek to strengthen cultural cooperation between Chisinau and Iasi and modernize public cultural infrastructure in both cities.
