The feature film “Carbon” will be screened at an international film festival in the city of Cluj-Napoca Romania

The Moldavian film “Carbon,” directed by Ion Borș, will be screened at the Transilvania International Film Festival, which is set to take place in the city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The screenings will occur on June 14th and June 16th at Cinema Victoria, as reported by Ziarul Metropolis.

The screening at the Transilvania International Film Festival will be attended by director Ion Borș and the film’s team, followed by a question and answer session. According to the information, the feature film “Carbon” has become the first Moldovan film to be screened in Romanian cinemas.

The film depicts Moldova in 1992, during the armed conflict on the Dniester River, and tells the story of a young tractor driver who faces various difficulties in his challenging pursuit of fulfilling his dreams.

In the previous year, the film “Carbon” was submitted by the selection committee from the Republic of Moldova for the 2023 Academy Awards in the category of “Best Foreign Language Film.” This decision was made on the same day as the film’s world premiere, which took place at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
