Another 40 citizens of the Republic of Moldova have been evacuated from the Middle East and arrived this morning in Chisinau on a flight operating the Dubai – Chisinau route. Some of the passengers also hold Romanian citizenship, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova said.
According to the ministry, monitoring operations and consular assistance continue through Moldova’s diplomatic missions in the region. At present, there are no reported victims or injured persons among Moldovan citizens in the countries affected by the security tensions in the Middle East.
Updated data show that eight individual evacuation requests are currently active, while 13 cases have already been resolved, with citizens managing to leave Qatar in recent days. Another six requests are under review, and 55 Moldovan citizens have asked for information about possible departure options from the country.
According to the ministry, some citizens left Qatar via commercial land routes to Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates, from where they continued their journey on commercial flights to European destinations. At the same time, three people were evacuated with the support of European partners through the rescEU mechanism.
In the United Arab Emirates, two people requested evacuation assistance, while two similar requests were registered from Bahrain.
Meanwhile, authorities in Israel announced the extension of the state of emergency until March 23, 2026, while the current restrictions remain in force until March 14.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Moldovan citizens in the region to avoid non-essential travel, follow the instructions of local authorities, regularly check flight statuses directly with airlines, and stay in contact with Moldova’s diplomatic missions while relying only on official sources for information.
