The Material Reserves Agency announces the tender for the purchase of 41.7 thousand tons of wheat, according to the authorities’ announcement.
Thus, the total cost of the wheat to be purchased by the authorities is 201.6 million lei, and the price for one ton offered by the authorities is 4,832 lei, writes BANI.MD.
On the European market, wheat prices for September contracts were 335.25 euros per ton, down 3.25 euros. European corn prices for the new corn harvest (November) were 334.25 euros per ton, down 2.25 euros.
In Moldova, the current year’s wheat harvest was compromised by drought, and according to the forecasts of the Ministry of Agriculture, the total volume of harvested wheat will be around 750-800 tons compared to the 2021 harvest, which was 1.5 million tons.
