The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova firmly condemned the unauthorized overflight of the national airspace by an unmanned aerial vehicle that crossed the state border on May 13 from the direction of Mohyliv-Podilskyi in the Vinnytsia region toward the village of Sauca in Ocnita district.
“Such incidents represent an inadmissible violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and create a risk for the safety of citizens,” the ministry stated.
The ministry reiterated the need for strict respect of Moldova’s airspace in accordance with international law.
The drone crossed several localities, including Ocnita, Balti, Ungheni, Calarasi, and Hincesti, before disappearing from radar near the village of Mingir in Hincesti district.
