Dorin Junghietu says the fuel market in the Republic of Moldova is currently stable, but developments in the Middle East require increased attention from the authorities. He notes that petroleum product stocks have stabilized over the past two weeks.
“As of today, we have gasoline for 21 days and diesel for 11 days,” the minister stated.
However, Junghietu warns about the tense international context and stresses that the situation in the Middle East could influence the energy market. He highlights the importance of refinery operations in Romania, which could help stabilize the regional fuel supply. Authorities in Chisinau are awaiting the resumption of their activity to strengthen supply security.
“We must remain cautious and maintain a certain level of alert so as not to be caught off guard,” the Energy Minister added.
At the Government meeting on April 22, officials approved decisions to ask Parliament to end the state of emergency and introduce an alert status in the energy sector. Authorities consider that the situation is no longer exceptional, but they emphasize the need to stay prepared for potential risks, including those affecting the fuel market.
