The Ministry of Agriculture has launched a project to support farmers: The amount of one grant reaches one million dollars

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFA) has announced that the first call for applications for grants offered by the Agriculture Governance, Growth and Resilience Investment Project (AGGRI) has been opened. The maximum value of a grant is up to $1 million, provided the amount does not exceed 50% of the eligible investment. Applications must be submitted to the territorial offices of the Agency for Agricultural Intervention and Payments from 15 January to 17 May 2024.

“The AGGRI project encourages the construction or modernization of livestock farms, equipping them with state-of-the-art technology and purchasing breeding animals. In addition, funds are made available for energy efficiency on farms. This includes the implementation of technologies such as biogas stations and photovoltaic panels,” MAFA points out.

To benefit from financial resources, producers must meet certain conditions. They must be registered and operate in the territory controlled by the Moldovan authorities, except the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti. The applicants must also be the legal owners of the assets that are the subject of the grant incentive, with a minimum lease or commodate period of five years. Another important aspect is the availability of a business plan with viable long-term economic and financial prospects. Applicants must assume financial responsibility, contributing at least 50% of the value of the investment sub-project, explains the source.

The complete list of eligibility criteria and the documents to be submitted with the application can be consulted in the Grant Allocation Manual.
