The Moldovan-Romanian Civil Society Forum brought together 70 participants from both sides of the Prut River in Chisinau

Here is a summary of the Moldovan-Romanian Civil Society Forum for Development, organized by the Constantin Mimi Foundation in Chisinau on September 3-4. The event featured two days of discussions, with 70 participants from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, and concluded with the signing of a memorandum.

The Secretary General of the Iasi County Council and the head of the Territorial Office of the State Chancellery attended the event’s opening. Speakers at the event included the Vice President of the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova, directors of Local Action Groups, and representatives from local public authorities and international organizations.

The Moldovan-Romanian Forum aimed to strengthen civil society’s involvement in social processes, promote and enhance the sustainability of civil society organizations, and develop active civic engagement and volunteering.

At the end of the two days of discussions, experience sharing, and social best practices, the participants signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation between Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from Romania and CSOs, local public authorities, and economic agents in the Republic of Moldova.
