President Maia Sandu received on Thursday, March 13, the accreditation letters of the new Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, Paun Rohovei.
The Head of State reiterated Moldova’s gratitude for Ukraine’s resilience in the face of the Russian invasion, a fight that also protects peace in our country. Maia Sandu also reaffirmed the Republic of Moldova’s commitment to supporting efforts for a just and lasting peace in the neighboring country, contributing to the stability and security of the entire region and the European continent.

It is worth mentioning that previously, Ukrainian authorities announced that Alexei Danilov, Head of the National Security Committee of Ukraine, was to become the ambassador to our country. Volodymyr Zelensky approved the candidacy but later decided to appoint Paun Rohovei as head of the diplomatic mission.
Additionally, in February 2025, Paun Rohovei presented copies of his accreditation letters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The documents were handed over to State Secretary Sergiu Mihov.
