The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, met with Moldovans living in Rome

In the context of his official visit to Italy, the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, met with a group of Moldovans living in Rome. The discussions focused on several current topics, including the reforms initiated by the authorities in Chisinau or the challenges facing the Republic of Moldova, the Communications and Public Relations Department of the Legislature.

The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, spoke to the citizens about the European path of the Republic of Moldova and the progress made in this regard.

“We want and are doing everything in our power to succeed in opening accession negotiations with the EU as soon as possible. And here we need the involvement of all citizens, wherever they are, and our Moldovans from the diaspora are the best ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova on the external level”, added the head of the legislature.

Also, Moldovan citizens living in Rome mentioned that they watched the European Political Community Summit with pride and noted the announcement that roaming tariffs in the European Union will be significantly reduced from January 1, 2024.

Another topic that has shown interest concerns the support programs for entrepreneurs, which aim at developing the business environment and creating jobs and economic growth.

“I encourage you to come home and invest in the future of the Republic of Moldova. Only together will we transform our country”, stressed the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu.

Between June 4 and 7, the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, is on an official visit to Italy. Deputies Galina Sajin and Mihai Druță are members of the parliamentary delegation accompanying the head of the legislature on his visit to Italy. The agenda of the official visit includes meetings with the leadership of the Italian Parliament – the head of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana. Also, the delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will discuss with parliamentarians from the committees for foreign policy in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, as well as with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edmondo Cirielli. The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, will also participate in the inauguration of the Moldovan-Italian Friendship Parliamentary Group, which was recently established in the Italian Parliament. In Rome, the head of the legislature will discuss investment opportunities in the Republic of Moldova with representatives of several Italian companies.
