The Pride of Moldova: Discover the only Olympian in the pistol shooting competition

Anna Dulce is the only athlete who competed in the shooting contest to represent the Republic of Moldova at the Paris Olympic Games.

We note that the shooting competition took place in Paris on Saturday, July 27, where our shooter finished 28th out of 45 competitors.

It is not the Moldovan athlete’s first Olympic appearance. She previously competed in the 2020 Tokyo Games.

This year, Anna was also named European champion in air pistol shooting. Her coach is Oleg Moldovan.

The shooting competition is classified into three categories:

  • Pistol: Competitions using pistols of various calibers at different distances.
  • Rifle: Competitions involving rifles of various types, including air rifles and free rifles, at different distances and positions (prone, standing, kneeling).
  • Skeet and Trap: Events involving shooting at moving targets, where participants aim at flying clay discs launched at different angles and speeds in the air.
