The Cabinet of Ministers approved, today, the Program for the management of the migration flow, asylum and the integration of foreigners for the years 2022-2025. Its implementation will contribute to ensuring a safe migration, establishing well-defined rules regarding the admission and documentation procedures of foreigners, but also increasing the quality of the services provided to them.

At the same time, the implementation of the Program will increase the development of the inter-institutional mechanism, in order to increase the degree of safety of the population and will contribute to combating illegal migration.
The document is important in the context of obtaining the status of a candidate country for accession to the European Union, but also taking into account the evolution of the migration phenomenon, as a result of the major challenges, which take place at the national, regional and global level.
Also, the Program involves alignment with the new international instruments in the field – the Global Compact for Safe, Regulated and Orderly Migration, as well as the Global Compact for Refugees.
