The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) announced that it does not recognize the results of the September 28 parliamentary elections and warned that it will organize protests if the Constitutional Court validates the results, reports Newsmaker.md.

Vlad Batrincea, PSRM vice-president, told TV8 that the elections were marked by irregularities and the use of administrative resources, which he says compromised the fairness of the process.

“We cannot seriously discuss Moldova’s future if the country lacks democracy and free elections. Elections must be fair, and participation conditions must be equal. Only then can democracy function properly,” Batrincea said.

He urged the Constitutional Court to reject validation, citing the alleged irregularities. If the Court confirms the results, PSRM plans to continue contesting them on international platforms, in the streets, and in Parliament.

On October 5, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) declared the September 28 election results valid. On October 6, the CEC submitted the necessary documents to the Constitutional Court for confirmation and validation of deputies’ mandates.

By law, the Constitutional Court has 10 days to confirm or invalidate the elections, following the final resolution of all complaints.
