The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) responded to Communist Party leader Vladimir Voronin, who announced plans to form a separate parliamentary faction outside the Patriotic Bloc.

In an official statement, PSRM said it is challenging the parliamentary election results in court and will decide on faction formation only after the Constitutional Court validates the outcome.

“PSRM is contesting the parliamentary election results in the courts and before the Constitutional Court. The decision on creating parliamentary factions, under Parliament’s regulations, will be made and announced at the first session of the newly elected legislature — if the Constitutional Court validates the elections,” the statement said.

PSRM emphasized that it will not comment on or confirm any parliamentary structure until all legal procedures related to validating the September 28, 2025 elections are complete.

Earlier, Vladimir Voronin said the Communist Party (PCRM) — part of the opposition Patriotic Bloc — plans to create its own parliamentary faction, while maintaining cooperation with bloc members “but not within the current framework.”
