The Republic of Moldova benefits from an integrated communications system, which ensures fast cooperation and a secure exchange of information with Romania

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova announces the completion of the “COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE” Project – COMINF, EMS-ENI Code – COMINF/3.1/1, an innovative collaboration between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania, with a total investment of 7,591,320.33 Euros.

Among the significant achievements of the project was the establishment of the Cross-Border Police Cooperation Center in Lipcani, as well as the modernization of the communications infrastructure, facilitating a rapid exchange of information with a transmission capacity of at least 5 Gbps.

At the same time, the investment contributed to the purchase of four mobile communication centers, thus expanding the coverage area with communication services and strengthening our ties with Romania.

The new infrastructure will make the collaboration between the partner institutions of the two countries faster and more accessible. By expanding communications capabilities and improving information sharing, law enforcement authorities in the Republic of Moldova and Romania will benefit from secure and effective cooperation in managing emergencies and other cross-border challenges.

The infrastructure works were managed by the company “EUROSTIL CONSTRUCT”, recognized for its vast experience in the construction field and for its high quality standards.

This strategic project was made possible thanks to the generous funding granted by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI), thus confirming the solid commitment of our European partners to regional development and cooperation between states.

The project is financed by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI) within the Joint Operational Program Romania – Republic of Moldova 2014 – 2020.
