Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebryan met on 18 December with the Ukrainian Ambassador for Special Assignments, Paun Rogovei, and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Moldova, Marko Shevchenko. The reintegration bureau reported the meeting.

The agency said that the sides discussed the possibility of “giving a positive impetus to the Transnistrian settlement process,” as well as the solution to the most pressing problems of the population on both sides of the Dniester, the prevention of outbreaks of destabilization and the preservation of a secure environment.

The sides also noted that after the recent decision of the European Council to open negotiations on Moldova and Ukraine’s accession to the EU, the role of the European structures in the Transnistrian settlement and the promotion of Moldova’s reintegration policy is significantly increasing.
