The Republic of Moldova will learn from Montenegro’s experience in the EU accession process

Moldova will draw on Montenegro’s experience in accessing the European Union. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Gherasimov met today with Predrag Zenovic, Montenegro’s chief negotiator for EU accession.

Zenovic is visiting Chisinau to attend the third Forum of Chief Negotiators, organized by the European Commission. Gherasimov highlighted Montenegro’s significant progress in the EU accession process.

“Montenegro has achieved the greatest progress among candidate states in European integration, and we have much to learn from the experience of its authorities and citizens,” she said.

The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation and the exchange of best practices in European integration. Gherasimov and Zenovic agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between Moldova’s European Integration Bureau and its counterpart institution in Podgorica.
