The World Bank provided Moldova with 4.32 million dollars to improve education conditions

The Education and Research Ministry (MER) launched the School Grants Program, allocating $4.32 million to modernize general education institutions. The program will award 120 grants.

The MER is implementing the program as part of the Education Quality Improvement Project, with financial support from the World Bank, the Global Partnership for Education, and the Early Learning Partnership Multi-Donor Fiduciary Fund.

“This program encourages schools to focus on four key priorities: developing digital tools and interactive teaching methods, improving learning assessments, providing educational support for disadvantaged students, and promoting girls’ access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics),” said Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun.

The program will fund projects in these priority areas, and officials will select grant recipients through a competitive process. Schools must submit their applications by December 31, 2024. The MER will announce the final decisions in May 2025, and schools will begin implementing the projects at the start of the new school year.

The MER invites all Moldovan schools to participate by submitting innovative projects that aim to improve the quality of education.
