The separatist administration in Tiraspol has announced how it plans to distribute 43.2 million Transnistrian rubles collected through the “Together” fund, which calls on local residents to make donations to help supplement the region’s budget. The funds will be used for pensions, social benefits, and the purchase of medicines and food for hospitals and orphanages.
Of the more than 43 million Transnistrian rubles, 27.3 million will be allocated for pensions and compensation payments, according to rupor.md. Separatist leaders claim that the amount also includes monthly child allowances.
Another 8.4 million rubles will be directed toward certain social payments, while the remaining funds will be used to purchase medicines and food for hospitals and orphanages.
The “Together” fund was created amid the economic crisis on the left bank of the Dniester, with citizens encouraged to contribute donations. The largest transfers reportedly came from the Sheriff company, controlled by oligarch Victor Gușan.
Residents of the region appear to have mocked the initiative, with some reportedly donating amounts as small as one Transnistrian kopeck.
