The year 2024 is nearing its end. The head of state gave an overview of the forestry sector. Maia Sandu highlighted that more than seven thousand hectares of forests have been planted and regenerated.
Fifteen thousand volunteers and foresters, along with Maia Sandu, planted 26.5 million saplings, including oak, ash, acacia, hornbeam, elm, poplar, and linden.
“We have equipped foresters with 14 sets of new equipment, including tractors, mulchers, and rotovators, and signed a 200 million euro agreement with the European Investment Bank to modernize the forestry sector. Just a few days ago, I signed a decree ratifying the financing contract,” the president added.
