The government in Chișinău will continue to thwart any attempt by the Russian Federation to undermine the territorial integrity, independence of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the dignity of our citizens. This statement was made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean on the Jurnal TV channel.
“It’s time for Russia to realize that the Republic of Moldova is an independent state. This is crucial. And it’s time to realize that the Republic of Moldova must be respected. Immediately after the outbreak of the war, we were very clear about Moldova’s position regarding Russia’s attack on Ukraine, about how they are killing people there. And we will continue to block any attempt by Russia to undermine the territorial integrity, independence of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the dignity of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova,” said Dorin Recean.
Referring to Moscow’s reactions to the expulsion of the head of Sputnik Moldova, the Prime Minister said, “We don’t need to react to hysterical reactions”.
“We must remain calm, focus on our work, grow the economy, ensure salaries, provide opportunities for the business environment. The government has demonstrated throughout this period that it has the capacity to ensure peace, security, and deal with all threats of any kind they have attempted: with false bomb alerts to induce anxiety in society, financing criminal groups that organized protests and attempted destabilization, with cyberattacks. So, nothing will pass. The government will continue to ensure security in the country, and at the same time, we need to focus on judicial reform, economic growth, and meeting the conditions to move on to the next stage in negotiations with the EU,” added Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
