Authorities will compensate businesses impacted by rising electricity tariffs. PAS Vice President Radu Marian announced this during the ”Rezoomat” show on RliveTV. The deputy confirmed that the Government will implement a support mechanism to help entrepreneurs who rely on electricity in their production processes. This measure responds to power suppliers’ requests to increase tariffs, reports IPN.
Radu Marian, who chairs the Parliament’s Committee on Economy, Budget, and Finance, stated that officials will soon unveil the business compensation mechanism. The plan aims to reduce inflationary pressures caused by the tariff hike.
”We will introduce a support package for consumers and businesses that depend on electricity for production, working to minimize price increases as much as possible. We will announce a support mechanism to ease inflationary effects,” promised the vice president of the ruling party.

Radu Marian highlighted that Moldova has faced an unusual situation for years, with much of its electricity produced using free gas. He emphasized the need to transition to a fair payment system.
”Russia’s actions in the Transnistrian region have caused the tariff increases. Moldova purchased much of its electricity from the Cuciurgan power plant, which generated energy using free gas supplies. It created an atypical situation, but transitioning to fair pricing had to happen eventually. We are ready to intervene and make this shift as smooth as possible for citizens,” explained Radu Marian.
On Thursday, Moldova’s two electricity suppliers, Premier Energy, and FEE Nord, requested tariff increases that would more than double consumers’ energy costs.
