In addition to Ukraine, NATO must support other vulnerable partners in the region, such as the Republic of Moldova, which has become the target of Russia’s destabilizing actions. This was stated by Romanian Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu at the meeting of NATO ministers in Brussels.
Thus, Romania will provide 750,000 dollars for the development of the defense sector of the Republic of Moldova. Bogdan Aurescu noted that allied support for Ukraine will have to continue for as long as necessary, “because, as we have repeatedly said, if we want peace in the region, in the Euro-Atlantic space, we must make sure that Ukraine wins this war, there is no other way out” .
At the same time, he said that NATO should provide support to Moldova, since our country has strongly felt the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
“Romania is ready to state right now that we will continue to contribute to the Alliance’s defense capability development programs – 800,000 dollars for Ukraine and 750,000 dollars for the Republic of Moldova, for increasing their defense capability”, the Romanian Foreign Minister said.
