On Friday morning, authorities stopped the hot water supply in the cities of Dubasari and Grigoriopol, and by around 1:00 p.m., they extended the measure to Tiraspol, Bender, Rabnita, and Sucleia. At the same time, they suspended the sale of liquefied gas at gas stations across the Transnistrian region, redirecting supplies exclusively to emergency and military services, IPN’s correspondent from the left bank of the Dniester reported.
As compensation, the Dubasari Hydroelectric Power Plant raised its energy output from 24 to 36 megawatts, made possible by an additional diversion of water from the Novodnistrovsk Hydroelectric Power Plant. The plant operates three hydroelectric generators, and in the coming days, the water level below the dam will rise by about one meter.
On October 2, Tiraspol introduced a strict gas-saving regime, which will remain in place until roughly October 12–13. The so-called economy minister of the region, Sergei Obolonik, assured that households, schools, and hospitals will not face any disruptions.
