TUX Administrators Launch New Scam After Pyramid Collapse

After the collapse of the TUX financial pyramid on October 7, which wiped out the savings of thousands of Moldovans, the platform’s administrators continue to deceive users through new schemes. Initially, they demanded $100 under the pretext of “tax payments,” but now they condition account access on a so-called “activation fee” of the same amount. Meanwhile, the TUX Moldova website has been suspended, bani.md reports.

On the evening of October 9, users received messages promising to restore their accounts and funds — but only after logging into a new server and paying the required sum. In the message, TUX administrators claimed the fee was necessary for “compliance certification for international exchange listings” and “user asset security.”

The fake notice urged victims to complete the process within 72 hours, warning that “withdrawals, transfers, and earnings will return to normal after authentication.”

Sources on several Telegram channels estimate that total losses have reached €48 million. The platform, which lured tens of thousands of Moldovans with promises of daily profits of up to 4%, has now fully collapsed.

Contacted by the press, Iurie Rosca, head of the Cybercrime Investigation Center within the National Investigation Inspectorate, confirmed that authorities have opened a criminal case in connection with the incident:

“There are reasonable grounds to believe that the activities carried out by TUX constitute financial fraud,” Rosca stated.
