The Evaluation Commission will hear two prosecutors from the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, June 16: Interim Deputy Chief Prosecutor Octavian Iachimovschi and Prosecutor Alexandru Cernei.
“In the evaluation process, the Commission did not identify concerns regarding the financial or ethical integrity of one of the prosecutors. For the other, the Commission will clarify one aspect during the hearing, and the prosecutor concerned will have the opportunity to provide the necessary explanations,” the Commission stated in a press release.
The Evaluation Commission will hear Octavian Iachimovschi at 13:00 and Alexandru Cernei at 13:40 at the headquarters of the National Institute of Justice.

The Commission applies Law No. 252/2023 on the external review of judges and prosecutors and follows its own organizational and operational regulations to conduct the evaluation.
The evaluation team assesses whether the individuals under review meet the required standards of ethical and financial integrity. According to legal procedure, the Commission randomly assigns the evaluation files to its two panels, each consisting of three national and international members.
