“Ukraine Fights for Peace”: Maia Sandu Condemns Russian Strike on Kyiv

President Maia Sandu expressed solidarity with Ukraine following the Russian missile strike that occurred overnight from Thursday to Friday, injuring at least 23 people. In a post on platform X, Sandu emphasized that Ukraine “fights for freedom and peace” not just for itself, but for the entire European community.

“Kyiv was hit again by Russian missiles. Ukraine is fighting for freedom and peace—for all of us. But against an empire of evil, it stands alone far too often. It needs more air defense, stronger support. Supporting Ukraine means protecting peace in Europe and beyond.” Sandu wrote on X.

Authorities in the Ukrainian capital confirmed Friday morning that Russia had bombed Kyiv with drones in an overnight attack, injuring at least 23 people, damaging railway infrastructure, and igniting buildings and vehicles across the city.
