Ukrainian President Zelensky Announces Grain Transit Corridor through Moldova

In Moldova, a transit corridor for Ukrainian grain will soon begin operations, announced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Bucharest.

“Recently, a grain corridor from Ukraine through Moldova will start operating. This is of great significance not only for our countries but also for Europe and the entire world,” said Zelensky.

The Ukrainian head of state mentioned the strategic direction of cooperation between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania, which will create new opportunities for these countries, especially in the economic realm.

Additionally, Zelensky stated that during his visit to Bucharest, the first steps were agreed upon for the defense of port infrastructure used to export Ukrainian grain.

“In Romania, it is well known how dangerous Russian terrorism is, as well as the danger posed by rockets and Shahed drones, which constantly target the Odesa region, villages, and towns near Romania’s borders. Romania is a guarantor of global food security. The ports on the Danube are used, and Romanian ports ensure food supply for other countries. We must do everything possible to prevent Russia from turning the Danube or Black Sea region into a dead zone. We have agreed on the initial steps to allow us to defend these ports,” Zelensky further stated.
