According to Moldelectrica, the donation was made within the framework of the USAID project aimed at enhancing energy security in Moldova – MESA. The goal of this donation is to modernize the electricity transport infrastructure and strengthen Moldelectrica’s ability to gather information about the state of the electrical grids and promptly respond to potential incidents or defects.
The drones, equipped with modern digital monitoring systems for power lines, will streamline the surveillance of electrical networks by capturing detailed aerial images over large areas. This approach will help reduce data collection costs and enhance the safety of Moldelectrica’s employees who are involved in network maintenance.
Furthermore, the company’s staff will be trained to operate the drones effectively. This training will cover both regular network inspections and emergency scenarios related to energy infrastructure, ensuring a comprehensive approach to monitoring and maintenance.
