(VIDEO) Calin Georgescu, who aspires to be the president of Romania, sends a message to the “brothers in the Republic of Moldova”

The independent candidate in Romania’s presidential elections, Calin Georgescu, who ranked first after the first round of voting, addressed a message “to the Romanian brothers in the Republic of Moldova.”

“I would like to address our brothers in Moldova. My dear ones, I will tell you just one thing: from the Dniester to the Tisza, we are all part of the same great Romanian circle dance. That is why I tell you, Moldovan brothers, you will have our support—my support—for anything you believe is in your country’s interest, anything you think will bring you prosperity and stability. It is your issue, your decision. In any international organization or community, we stand by you unconditionally. Moldovans will never be alone I can assure you of that.

You do not choose your family; God gives it to you. That is why no one will ever be able to separate us. The Romanian nation is a historical covenant, not a political one.

We stand by you and will support your path toward a better life in Europe, just as we desire for ourselves. In a family, we support one another, and I guarantee you that politics alone has divided the Romanian family, not us among ourselves. And this will categorically end,” Georgescu declared in his address.

It should be noted that in the first round of Romania’s presidential elections, Calin Georgescu, a candidate often said to mimic the Kremlin leader, received over two million votes. The result was deemed surprising by the press. In the second round of voting, scheduled for Sunday, December 8, the politician will face Elena Lasconi, the candidate of the Save Romania Union, for the presidential seat at Cotroceni.
