On August 14, a new chapter in the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Republic of Moldova began with the launch of the “Digital Transformation Academy” project. The mentoring program, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, brought together entrepreneurs from our country, refugees from Ukraine, and experts in digital transformation who discussed the importance and benefits of digitalization in the business environment.
“The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova is implementing the project Support for Small and Medium Enterprises in Digitalization within the Eastern Partnership. This project is aimed at supporting companies in the digitalization of their services. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with its partners (), carries out several activities to inform and increase the competitiveness of local companies through different seminars and training,” said Sergiu HAREA
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RM said this in his message.
Participants came with high expectations, eager to learn how to adapt their businesses to the digital age. Iuliana Ursu, a local entrepreneur, is one of them.
“I want to know more about how I can fit my field in digitalization because it is an innovative direction, and somehow, we all have to move on this side.”
For Alexei Moldovan, another entrepreneur present in the program, participation was an opportunity to understand Moldova’s better level of digitalization.
“For me, this project highlights the need to assess the current level of digitalization in Moldova. What international practices can we implement in the country and, maybe, find partners?”
During several mentoring sessions over a month-long period, participants had the opportunity to interact directly with the trainers, participate in intensive online sessions, and deepen their knowledge of digital solutions. Adrian Savciuc, a digital transformation specialist, described the process as interactive and beneficial for everyone present.
“In all these interactions, we tried to get closer to the particular case of each organization and help them with some ideas to help them take the next step in the organization’s development and transform through different solutions.”
“The Digital Transformation Academy” not only provided essential knowledge but also created opportunities for collaboration. Victoria Pisarenco, a refugee entrepreneur from Ukraine, revealed how the project opened new horizons for her business.
“Thanks to the team of professional teachers, my business will be digitalized. Thanks to the project, I started to collaborate with a producer in Europe.”
The final training, which took place on 16 September, ended with the handing over of diplomas, marking the end of an important stage in the digital transformation of Moldovan SMEs and sealing the participants’ confidence that they can face the challenges brought about by the digitalization of all industries.
