A video circulating on social media shows a letter sent by Moldova’s Presidential Administration to a citizen, along with utility bills, copies of identity documents, and other papers allegedly found at a landfill.

According to the footage, the correspondence dates back to 2018. The envelopes bear official postal stamps, and the letter informs the recipient that a request submitted to the Presidential Administration had been reviewed.

Realitatea edited the video before publication to conceal personal information contained in the documents.

In response, the Presidential Administration firmly rejected claims that official documents belonging to the institution had been discarded.

The Presidency said the envelope shown in the video had already been delivered to its intended recipient and was not part of the institution’s archives.

“Once correspondence has been delivered to the recipient, responsibility for storing or disposing of it rests with the person who possesses it,” the Presidential Administration said.

The institution added that it manages official documents in full compliance with national legislation and internal rules governing document registration, circulation, archiving, and security.
