(VIDEO) He returned from abroad and now owns a factory in his home town. Read the story of an entrepreneur from Cahul

Haralampie Balteanu, a Cahul native, has run a hygiene products manufacturing business specializing in wet wipes since 2015. After returning from abroad, he used European funds to open, expand, and equip the enterprise with modern machinery.

“It all started from a desire to be home near children and family. Initially, the business was a family business, just me and my wife, and as time went by, we involved the children. We hired people when we believed we could pay one or two workers. Today, we have eight workers at the company,” concludes Haralampie Balteanu.

“Returning from abroad, we applied for the PARE 1+1 Program. We received a non-reimbursable grant of 200 thousand lei. With the support of this program, we purchased the first technological line for manufacturing napkins. It served us as a big support to start the business. A year ago, we applied again to ODA for 2 million. It is a huge project. With this support, we bought a high-performance technological line with big productivity,” said the entrepreneur.

Haralampie Balteanu’s story is part of the campaign launched by the REALITATEA Press Group: “Moldova Chooses Europe,” in which we tell about successful businesses launched in Moldova with financial support from the European Union.
