(VIDEO) Maia Sandu: “I am aware of Krasnoselski’s visit to Moscow”

The separatist leader from Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselski, is currently visiting Moscow. President Maia Sandu announced this after a Supreme Security Council (SSC) meeting where discussions focused on the energy sector and assistance measures for the population.

“I am aware of Krasnoselski’s visit to Moscow – further proof that Chisinau is not an obstacle to finding a solution. We want the people in the Transnistrian region, on the left bank, to have electricity, heat, and water as soon as possible. If this visit resolves the issue, let it resolve it,” stated Maia Sandu.

According to journalists from Zona de Securitate, Krasnoselski reportedly flew on Friday, January 10, via Chisinau International Airport. The separatist leader does not hold Moldovan citizenship or a residence permit in the country, meaning his travel, entry, and return are enabled through political decisions without a legal basis.

Previously, Maia Sandu noted that Russia employs energy blackmail to destabilize the situation, influence the 2025 parliamentary elections, and undermine Moldova’s European path. Due to Russia’s failure to honor its natural gas delivery contracts to consumers on the left bank of the Nistru River, Moldova has been in a state of emergency since December 16, 2024.
