Border Police representatives announced in a press release that they uncovered a network specializing in illegal migration. Following investigative actions, authorities arrested three individuals: two Moldovan citizens and one Ukrainian citizen, all suspected of organizing the illegal crossing of several foreign nationals over Moldova’s state border.
“According to the investigation, the three suspects allegedly facilitated the illegal crossing of Indian citizens to the European Union. The Indian citizens entered the Republic of Moldova using study transit visas valid only for Ukraine, but their true intention was to illegally cross the border into the European Union. They paid 21,500 euros to an intermediary in India.
The smuggling attempt occurred near the “Leuseni-Albita” state border crossing, where the three Indian nationals tried to bypass border control by walking through an uncontrolled area. Romanian border guards intercepted and detained them.
